Back in 1998, Apple had just built a brand new all-in-one Macintosh computer. Steve Jobs then goes to Apple Executives with a proposition on what to call it, “MacMan”. Then Ken Seagall, Apple’s creative director tries the name “iMac”. In this time period, the internet was becoming more mainstream, and the selling point of their new computer was that it connects to the internet faster than its competition. So the “i” in all the product names stands for Internet. Ken had to show Steve the idea twice before he finally agreed, and after that, the “i” was used on a lot of Apple’s products.
“I” did not know that!😀
