The IKEA effect is a scientific experiment that was conducted in 2011. There were two groups: One was forced to stare at a piece of furniture, and the other group was to build the same piece. In the end, the groups were asked how much they would pay for the furniture to own it. Interestingly, the group who built the furniture themselves was willing to pay 63% more than the group who looked at the furniture.
The moral of this experiment is that the more effort you put into something, the more you value it. So next time you’re doing something boring, put more effort into it because you’ll be more proud of it!
